Last update: V1.2 release 01/30/2011.

In March 2009, the team responsible of the very impressive Portal: Prelude announced the start of a new project: a Left 4 Dead campaign.

The project is finally done, but not without turmoils. Numerous bugs within the game engine or the system handling custom maps were found. Oddly, VALVe ignored most of the signaled bugs and even didn't corrected them yet.

Fortunately for us, the team resolved or made their way around all of them (or almost all of them) and now we have a fully playable campaign.

The campaign is made of 5 maps, allowing us to play in sets that differs quite a lot from the traditional L4D ones:
- Lost in the Woods
- Climbing the Manor
- The Underground Way
- Lumberyard Evacuation
- Lakeside Finale

The settings are originals and levels are atypical as well, made of largely open spaces (akin to Blood Harvest for L4D) with a lot of alternative paths, giving a good replayability.

All the images on this page come from the official site and represent the 5 levels of the game. You can also have a look at an overview of the whole campaign.

Important notes from the I Hate Mountains campaign authors:
To successfully see our custom visual effects:
Temporary disable any custom campaign you may have installed except I Hate Mountains because they can overwrite themselves pretty bad due to engine limitations. To do this, go to Menu > Extra > Add-ons and uncheck the checkboxes near each content. This only include waterfalls, rotor wind, sprinklers rain and such, but plays a huge role in immersion.

To successfully hear our custom sound effects:
Type snd_rebuildaudiocache in the game console in order to rebuild the game sound cache and include our sounds into it. You may prefer to do it with a game launched else it will freeze your game (but will still work). This only include ambient sound, but plays a huge role in immersion.

To successfully see our hints:
Because it can be quite intimidating to survive the first tries, enable the game instructor in Options > Multiplayer > Game Instructor and then, type gameinstructor_reset_counts in the game console to reactivate all the help messages

This map is played on the servers netday - l4d 1 , netday - l4d 2 , netday - l4d 3 , netday - l4d 4 .
