Most of the time (if not all the time), when someone wants to revisit such an all time classic, it's butt ugly ! All the add-ons are totally out of touch with the map it is based on. But here, the mapper really nailed it: take an over used and over abused classic map that virtually everyone in the CS(S) community know and do something else with it.
This is not the first time that an official map is being redone with some taste (cs_classified and de_phoenix_steel for instance). But this time, it's even better and it is closer to stuff like cs_office07.
The idea is to deeply alter the gameplay of this old timer to take everyone by surprise. All CS(S) players know Dust to the bones. One knows that the underground passage is a quasi death certainty, the main fight will take place in the upper part, ... This leads to some automatic behaviors. But, we are not in de_dust. More precisely, we are not just in de_dust.
We go from an hyper known and hyper "linear" map to something radically different. The numerous passages associated with the false sensation of knowing the map leads to a strange feeling. This is not unpleasant, it puzzling and surprising.
To sum it up, it's visually cohesive and stimulating. What more can you ask ?
